Creating meaningful visual images has always been an important aspect of my artwork. In particular, my motivation has centered increasingly on bridges, and how these man-made structures allow us to connect with others- regardless of the natural landscape.

Recently my focus has been on achieving depth and dimension in these paintings using the collagraph technique. By incorporating a variety of layered wood and an assortment of collage materials, the added volume to the work is undeniable- transforming a flat 2-D surface into something substantially more. Particular attention to detail and perspective are significant components of each piece.

Art has always played a significant role in my life, and continues to shape my decisions, and influences the manner in which my own work evolves. My goal is to provide an awareness of our environment- capturing different perspectives on subject matter that might otherwise be taken for granted. Even the ordinary experiences have the potential to become extraordinary through art.
